MORNING UPDATE - AUGUST 2

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Friday! Happy Erev Shabat! The weather is NY August meh, but bearable.
Sniff decided last night that the best place to sleep on is Baby Bro's pillow. After he was disabused of that notion, he opted for the cat house. George got into his usual pathetic meow routine in the morning, then we all shared breakfast, and now both of them are snoozing again - George on my bed, and Sniff in the middle of the hallway.
Today would have been my parents' 44th wedding anniversary - to quote my friend Gosha, "life!"
This morning I realized that I missed my last month's freebie from Godiva - again!
Currently trending at #1 is Jodie Sweetin - because she "refuses rehab reports"; why is this #1? #10 I might understand, but #1?
Trending at #2 is Tyra Banks, who, by the looks of it, was talking about adding men to America's Next Top Model - why is this interesting?
Simon Cowell is also in the news due to his affair with his friend's wife (who is now pregnant with Simon's baby) - wow, what a friendship! Move over, musketeers! This is way more manly!
The post office claims that it takes picture of every single piece of mail they process and stores it for up to a month - your tax dollars at work once again.
Members of Taiwanese parliament were brawling before a key vote, punching each other, and throwing water bottles - I think our Congress should start doing the same thing. This way they could at least provide some entertainment.
"Amanda Bynes' Face Transformation Will Surprise You" - there are many other verbs you could use in this situation, but surprise is not one of them.
"Justin Bieber's 'Baby' is officially the best-selling digital song ever" - I weep for our youth.
And, finally, Kate was "spotted" wearing a nursing bra and praised for breastfeeding her baby - here is my question: how could you "spot" a woman's underclothes, nursing or not?

MORNING UPDATE - JULY 28

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Sunday! Shavua Tov! Wishing all of you a fantastic week! The weather is not so bad for NY July, which fact feline companions loved once again, especially Sniff. He did his usual crazy running routine for a good portion of the morning, and is now resting on my bed. George also did his usual - asked loudly for fresh food, fresh water, and more petting, after which he retired to the top of the book shelf. They are also officially on the regular food; for a while it was diet variety, then a combo of diet and regular, and now, considering how much exercise they are getting, they are getting only regular.
The crazy upstairs is up to her usual stuff.
We got a new intercom panel! It has 3 buttons: "talk", "listen", and "door", as opposed to the old one, which had only 2 - "talk" and "door", so, yes, wast improvement - and being new and shiny does not hurt either.
Also, please don't ask why one of the burners is currently sitting on the top shelf of the fridge.
Jeff Mauro was doing "healthy" sandwiches - 2 vegetarian and one with grilled chicken! I guess, being from Chicago, he has to listen (or at least make believe to listen) to Michelle's edicts.
Jennifer Aniston is currently trending at #3 because she claimed that she already feels married to her Justin -ah, lady, don't rush! They get very skittish when you move the time table on them!
Trending at #7 - Selena Gomez! Why? Because Justin Bieber attended her 21st birthday party! Come to think of it, what the heck was I doing on my 21st birthday? Why can't I find anything in the old news?
Amanda Bynes is also very much in the news because she is on "mental health watch" since Monday. What took so long?
In the news of fashion: Selena again, this time together with Kourtney Kardashian. Both of them wore knee high gladiator sandals with very short shorts - and now experts in the field are deciding who looked better. This is definitely newsworthy, people, like, definitely!
"Snooki's trainer shares weight loss secrets" - how about education and mind-improving secrets?
"Most Millionaires don't think they are rich" - duh! Just remember what you could by for a 20 about 20 years ago and now - and you totally get them.
And, finally, it looks like Prince George will get costume made cuff links for his christening from Prince Charles's goddaughter - what the heck he needs them for is a different story.

MORNING UPDATE - JULY 4

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Thursday! The weather is - ah, it's July! 
Happy Birthday to our magnificent country! 
Feline companions, as always, are not happy with the weather. Last night, surprisingly, after snoozing for a while in the cat house Sniff came on my bed, snuggled up, allowed to be petted and scratched under his chin, and then continued to eat my summer blanket - a noble deed that he started few months ago. George is snoozing on top of some files right now, and Sniff is back in the cat house.
Avril Lavingne wore a black wedding gown - is it because it's already her second marriage, or does she have good feeling about this one? Of course, black gown on Avril is nothing to Honey Boo Boo's Mama June, who were camouflage gown with orange underskirt and camouflage trim on her veil - some wedding that must have been!
Amanda Bynes is currently trending at #4 because of her interesting tweets, one of whom is her musing about needing plastic surgery before her wedding - how about just finding a decent shrink and keeping up with the meds?
Tom Cruise is reputed to have many toys and was seen driving a new bike on the eve of his 51st birthday - well, Tom is definitely a guy; why is this news?
"15 Of Kim Kardashian's Most Patriotic Fashion Moments" - spare me, please!
Justin Bieber announced his third fragrance - likewise, spare me!

MORNING UPDATE - JUNE 3

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Monday! It's raining outside, but there is no triple H - thank Gd! Feline companions do not appreciate the rain and are now sleeping - George on my bed, and Sniff by Baby Bro. By the way, I think this is the week when Sniff is being nice to my roommate, as all he did at night was to sleep in the cat house - there was no snuggling on my bed.
Recent discovery - donating blood to NY Blood Bank is a better experience than donating to Maimonides hospital - the phlebotomists know what they are doing, and afterwards you actually find out what blood type you are.
Daniel Radcliffe doesn't just want one tat - he wants to get lots of them, once he is finished filming all his "naked scenes". Oh, come on - there is such thing as makeup, Daniel! Go ahead and ink up!
Courtney Love Cobain recently twitted to Amanda Bynes, urging her to "pull it together" - which advice, coming from Love, looks like a height of delusional mania grandiosity.
Portia de Rossi is trending at #2 now because of fans "wild speculations" about whenever or not she had plastic surgery - considering how plasticy she looks to begin with, I think the discussion is moot.
Tatum baby is trending at #3 - even though we still don't know either the sex or the name of the said baby.
Trending at #6 is Kardashian baby: the public finally found out that Kim and Kanye are having a girl - yippee!
Speaking of which - Bruce Jenner is trending at #2 for "slamming" Kanye about "never being around" - trouble in paradise?
An apple a day is apparently beneficial for your memory; the other beneficial product - red whine! Interesting - so, if we drink white wine, we forget all the garbage men visit on us, but if we drink red whine, we remember it? Points to ponder.
Justin Bieber was "driving around" with a "mystery blond" - oh, heck, Jelena over again?! Also, he claimed that he is enjoying "much needed time off" - ditto, Justin. We would really appreciate time off from you.
And, finally, Kate Middleton was "slammed for 'glamorous pregnancy'", making it hard for "real pregnant women" - yea, because being pregnant and having no privacy is fun; it is also very hard to figure out that if you have gobs of money and personal attendants, your pregnancy is "more glamorous".

MORNING UPDATE - MAY 28

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Tuesday! It's raining again, but no triple H - so, me ok with that. Feline companions, however, feel sluggish and extra sleepy - another "no complain". Sniff attacked George on my bed once again - he suffered a major defeat in about 20 seconds, but I admire persistence. Another sign of his persistence - there is an obvious hole in the last non-holy window blind I had.
The crazy upstairs is back with a vengeance - and now, after a brisk vacuuming, there are banging noises coming from upstairs.
Alton Brown was making all kinds of gooey pastry; ditto Paula with her cinnamon buns; and Ina is making scrumptious-looking mac and cheese, plus dessert!
Speaking of which - I run out of butter and sour cream, shame on my house-keeping skills!
Trending at #1: a fan slapped Beyonce's butt during concert - no comment.
Trending at #3: Amanada Bynes and Rihanna feud on Twitter - I guess when you are a genius, 140 characters or less is all you need to show your mental abilities to the world.
Rob Kardashian's weight loss is still trending at #6 - gee, how long can one person talk about weigh loss already?
There is also a spread of "sexy celebrity legs" - I still miss Betty Grable.
Trending at #2: R-Patz spent a weekend with Katy Perry - twyhearts, hankies at the ready!
Bieber was accused of reckless driving - why is this news?
And, finally, Kate is planning to move in with her parents after the baby is born - how Jewish is this?

MORNING UPDATE - MAY 23

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Thursday! The weather is improving, but still a bit too warm for my comfort. We got a fresh amazon box for the feline's delectation - and it's huge, as their food and litter came in it  They both love the box, and, like mature cats that they are, they take their turns in it - almost without fighting. Also, Sniff came in to snuggle few times last night.
Alton Brown was talking about green beans - still can't look at him the same way after I saw his picture with a huge gun! Marc Summers had a special on sandwiches, and Ina and Melissa both made rice dishes - yummy!
Daniel Radcliffe claimed that he finally put Harry Potter image "behind him" and also "revealed" in an interview that he was given a step by step instructions on how to film a homosexual scene - yea, no joke, Sherlock! That is so not Harry Potter - and please don't start yammering to me about Dumbledore! Yuk and barf!
Target is now offering wedding gowns; prices are from 99 to 129 bucks - take that, snobs!
Trending at #2: "Halle Berry baby bump" - as in she recently showed it, so, stop the presses!
Trending at #7: Janet Jackson officially joined the billionaire club - as in she married a billionaire from Qatar and in the process converted to Islam. Janet, just staying in the millionaire club was not enough?
Amanda Bynes was banned from a private jet flight somewhere in Jersey after she tried to google herself as a proof of id - enterprising.
Hussein's PR team decided to release his senior prom photo - I guess to lighten the mood. Thanks, but no, thanks! What I really want is a much, much longer list of real documents.
Among the best airlines, JetBlue and Southwest are mentioned for their free check in luggage - this dinosaur remembers the times when you could check in your luggage free on ALL the airlines!
Maria Sharapova is "gushing" about her younger boyfriend - she herself is 26, for eff's sake, not 66!

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Friday! Happy Erev Shabat! The weather rocks! Sniff continues his wicked habit of taking the tissues and napkins out of garbage cans. George is hunting something on my bed. Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy were lunching in Paris - awww; could they please stay there already? Celine Dion's son is trending at #2 because, like his mommy, he likes high heels - poor kid! In ordinary family those pictures would just be a fond memories of childhood - but his are splashed all over the net. Prince Harry is trying his hand at broadcasting - good for your, Your Royal Highness! Would you have the intestinal fortitude to report on the plight of those of your people who are the members of the EDL? Another news from England: Stonehedge is hiring! I am running there! Oh, wait - muslim invasion, high taxes, socialized healthcare - nah, I am staying put. There are talks of remaking Guys and Dolls with with Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt - thanks, Hollywood! Not only do you not produce anything decent and/or enjoyable, you are also on the path to destroy all of the gorgeous classics produced by the previous generations! Michael Buble was singing on the subway - heck, I missed it! "Virgin America promotes in-flight flirting" - how about just some old-fashioned leg-and/or butt room? Amanda Bynes is trending at #9 because she shaved half of her head - big deal! Baby Bro shaves his whole head about once a week! And, finally, Kate dressed her baby bump in a cute polka dot dress and, together with her hubby and brother in law visited WB studios in London - they did look cute waving the wands.
