The Best Motto

Gd, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannon change
Courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

You woke up this morning - Congratulations! You got another chance!

MORNING UPDATE, February 11, 2013

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Monday! Happy Rosh Chodesh Adar! Ladies, another reminder - very LIGHT housework!! And remind your husbands that they have another day to redeem themselves and get you a present. The weather is, once again, NY February, and the snow under my window is turning grey and slushy.

Bieber is back!!!! He is currently trending at #1 - surprise, that. It looks like he hosted the latest SNL, and jokingly apologized for his "weed bust" - teens and tweens, rejoice once more! In regards to Grammys - I went through their red carpet shots last night, and, in my unprofessional opinion, this lot looks even scarier than the Oscar parade, and in the immediate need of psychiatric help. Oh, and their wardrobe choices mostly stink, with rare exceptions. Adele looked cute - but then, she is the only real looking person in there. J. Lo came half-naked - big news, that. And "Brown, Rihanna snuggled together" - one more proof of need for anti-psychotic meds. Pope is stepping down; his replacement is supposed to take over by the end of March - I wonder if the new guy will continue with HP obsession and Muslim butt-kissing. And a "dirtier side" of solar energy revealed - it looks like this particular industry is producing a whole bunch of hazardous waste; gee wiz, I am simply floored with astonishment! There is also a whole advise on how to prep your house for winter - for whom, Australians? In case you missed it, guys, we are in the middle of February; the time for winter preparation is kinda over. And, finally, another celeb hairdo makes it into the news - this time it's Helen Mirren (currently trending at #9), who "debuted" pink hair - trying to fight the old age?

Coffee this morning in my Aruba mug (yea, I know, once again).

MORNING UPDATES, February 12, 2013

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Tuesday! Ladies, I hope Rosh Chodesh rocked, and you got nice presents from your hubbies! The weather continues to be NY February, and the snow under my window is almost gone - mainly slush left. George got jealous when Sniffles cuddled up with Baby Bro, and was giving them dirty looks. The crazy upstairs did not disappoint - the vacuuming session just finished.

Everyone is concerned as to who is going to be a new Pope - since when is everyone a Catholic? There is a rumor going on that Bieber photocopied his, um, family jewel during the SNL rehearsal, and sent it to Hilary as a Valentine card - there were no comments or confirmations from Bill on that particular topic. There is also a huge asteroid coming our way that's supposed to "brush" by Earth, or, in worse case scenario, destroy DC - why is that a worse case scenario? I just want to warn Bachmann, Cruz, and couple of other half-decent politicians to stay away - and it would be a best case scenario. Again all the famous preggos keep mum - frustrating, that. And, finally, the President of Chechnya declared war on witches and seers - I guess that is the biggest problem his country is facing today, and the rest of them were solved long time ago.

Coffee this morning in my Harry Potter mug.

MORNING UPDATE - July 6. 2014

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Sunday! Shavua Tov! It's hot, but still not as bad as in New York. Snow looks like she is enjoying the grass way too much. Last week I finally meat Chippy.
Prince William is currently trending at # 1 because he, together with wife and bro "kicked off Tour de France". At least they are easy on the eyes, unlike Some Who Should Not Be Named.
Malia Obama is at # 4 - for reasons unknown.
L.A. "unveils first pot farmer's market" - good for them! Of course, it had to be "farmer's market", or it won't be in the true traditions of L.A.
"Pope Francis: Not working on Sundays is good" - well, with all due respect, duh!!
"Kardashain style face-off" - "Kris Jenner raids her daughter's closet". Ah, grow up already!
"Smoldering" "Simpson ties the knot" - finally! Mazal Tov!
"College towns to retire to" - and be surrounded by all the stinking liberal tenured profs?!! Thanks, but no, thanks.
"Diego Maradona angry at refs" - dude, at your age, watch your blood pressure!
In honor of July 4th, Selena Gomez broke up with Justin Bieber once again - this is getting beyond soap opera status.
Coffee in the M & M mug, which was staring at me all this time.

MORNING UPDATE - June 22, 2014

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Sunday! Shavua Tov! Wishing all of you a fantastic week! The weather is beautiful - it's nice, sunny, and breezy, and not a cloud in sight.
Snow rejected chicken for reasons unknown, but happily consumed the yogurt that was spiced up with Super Snack by my darling niece and later pronounced moldy.
Currently trending at # 2 is Matt Damon - who would not be back for the next installment of the Bourne saga. The said sorry tidings are indeed a stain on the history of art - together with the entire Bourne saga.
"Best ways to eat lobster" - um, the way you like it?
Pope excommunicated Sicilian mafia - how about Nancy Pelosi?
"Why extreme diets are fundamentally flawed" - you actually need an explanation for that one?!
"Jessica Simpson Wears Little Black Dress, Continues Having Toned Calves" - a load off our chests! Since she "continues having toned calves", the Earth can continue spinning around the sun.
Bieber and Gomez had another date night - once again paging local psychiatric help.
"Buckingham Palace defends spending 4m (pounds) on refurbishing Kate and Will's flat" - seriously?!! Big deal! What's like a little weekend date night for Hussein and Michelle!

MORNING UPDATE - April 3, 2014

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Thursday! It's 58 degrees outside! With sun! Of course, the beginning of good weather also means more people yelling and cursing next to my window.
Feline companions finished their morning routine of eating, drinking, whining, running, and generally entertaining us, and are now peacefully snoozing on my bed.
Yesterday saw someone handling new book by Allen West - interesting scene there, what can I say.
Currently trending at #4 is Doris Day - who is "90 and looking great". Happy Birthday, Doris! Love your movies!
Trending at #7 is Jon Cryer - who is "writing a 'candid' memoir". So, the speculation is rampant as to what he is going to say about Charlie Sheen - who gives a damn one way or the other?
Miley Cyrus is at # 6 - because fans morn the passing of her dog. Poor dog!
There is also a whole discussion about her "fabulous" home, which includes a toilet worth a whopping 10 Gs!
"Newton-John rocks leather 36 years after 'Grease'" - great accomplishment!
"Teens who are larger than size 16 who want to look 'a little more sexy' are stuck dressing like 'grandmothers'" - welcome to the world, girls, where, unless you drastically lower your size, you will always be second class citizens (especially when it comes to the garment industry).
The Queen met the current Pope for the first time (he was the fifth Pope she has met). I wonder if she told him how he compared with his predecessors.
"Americans are workaholics" - well, duh!! That's why we have such decent quality of life. Of course, our current administration is doing everything in its power to punish the productive, rob them, and redistribute the fruits of their labor.
"A pair of stolen masterpiece paintings valued at $50 million have been recovered after being bought at an auction for $25 and hung in an auto worker's kitchen for years.... They were stolen from the home of a British couple in 1970.
An unnamed Fiat employee, described by police as a "lover of art," bought the two paintings in an auction of items left in the lost and found department of the national railway. The paintings were reportedly left behind on a train from Paris to Turin and were never claimed. Railway authorities put them up for auction in 1975." - WOW! What kind of moronic thief stole the paintings and left them on the train?!!
"Turkey lifting Twitter ban" - how magnanimous of them!
And, finally, Georgie will accompany his parents on the visit to the nursery in New Zealand - of course, neither hosts nor guest will truly feel the class and social distinction in this case.

MORNING UPDATE - January 14, 2014

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Tuesday! The weather is on the blah-y side, but at least it is still above freezing. Cats are enjoying the warm spell by being extra frisky - in George's case it shows in being more whiny, and in Sniff's case - more crazy running. He (Sniff) also decided to hunt some barbarians this morning, and for the past couple of days his head is mysteriously smelling of perfume.
Yesterday a costumer had difficulties figuring out how much would a $30 book cost at 50% off. Even after I told her, she asked me to scan it; after I scanned it for her, she bemoaned the fact of us not having self-scanners like in Macy's that would tell exactly how much the item would cost - and these people are allowed to vote!
Currently trending at #1 is Tori Spelling - because she "escaped to Disneyland with kids" while the scandal about her cheating hubby "rages on". Well, Disney really is a magical place that usually lets you forget all your worries - provided, of course, that you have money to afford the magic.
A new youtube sensation explains why a dude was waking up late - it's because his doggy was pushing the snooze button! Sometimes I wish Sniff would chew up my alarm's cord - kitty, did you hear that?
"The new secret to financial security" - elect the government that does not tax you to death.
"The truth about about common nutrition myths" - among them the fact that organic produce "does not pack more nutrients", it's just "better for the environment". Jeepers, I could have told you that a while ago! Fork over some research grants my way!
"The new hot Corvette debuts" - I guess I would have to be a guy in order to understand how a car (any car) could be "hot".
Another breakthrough study - fist bump is a much less germy greeting than a handshake! Who ordered this study - Adrian Monk?!!
"Rare early J. Lo footage" - spare me!
2 pilots from Southwest airline are grounded after landing a plane in the wrong airport - now, that's an achievement!
"Kobe's pricey haircut" - how much does it cost to be bald?!!!
Pope's Harley is for sale - I think a picture of him on Harley in his leather jacket would fetch more money.
Bieber's house was raided by cops over the "egg-throwing incident" - no comment.
And, finally, Kate and Will are searching for a new nanny for Georgie as the current one's contract is almost up - renewing the contract is not in the cards?
Coffee this morning in my Aruba mug.

MORNING UPDATE - January 1, 2014

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Wednesday! Getting colder and colder - and the ship is still stuck. Cats do not appreciate this weather - even George did not complain much, did not even eat, just went to sleep on my bed (as his papasan is still occupied). Sniff was meditating in front of the cat house for a while and finally decided to jump on top and go to sleep as well.
My Slavic neighbours were a complete disappointment this year - no singing or dancing! I guess their blood got thin and they did not like the cold also. On the bright side, the crazy upstairs is also quite after New Year's celebrations.
Currently trending at #1 is Carmen Electra - because she is one of the starts that loves yoga. Why is it on top? Because of New Year's resolutions?
Trending at #3 is Horoscope 2014 - your year will be filled with rainbow unicorns, and the love of your life will appear when Mars and Saturn will both be in zenith. Also watch out for the movements of Venus around February 15th - and don't miss the chocolate sales.
Kaley Cuoco is at #7 - because she got hitched on New Year's Eve. Mazal Tov!
The doctor who delivered Georgie was knighted by The Queen - I wonder if she knighted him with a sword or a scalpel.
"Miley Cyrus covers up for NYE in Times Square" - if was effin cold, dodo birds!
Pope made his usual speech, asking for peace in 2014 - well, Vatican is not where the main deterrents for world peace usually assemble.
"Colorado braces for retail marijuana" - why "braces"? Because the rest of the country is going to run there pronto to get some?

MORNING UPDATE - DECEMBER 4

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Wednesday! Happy Seventh Day of Chanukah! Happy Rosh Chodesh! Ladies, I hope your hubbies remembered about Rosh Chodesh yesterday, and if not, they have today to do something about it.
The weather rocks once again, so don't be surprised if Al Gore and some of the members of the IPCC will climb out from under some rock they were hiding, and lecture us a bit more.
Sniff came in to be petted this morning, then, as usual, proceed to eat my blanket. George is snoozing in his huge Amazon box.
No mice made an appearance yesterday, and we also got our shipment of Mockingjay!!!
Octavia Spencer is yet another celebrity who decided to become a children's book author. Also, we had some actor from True Blood making an appearance, as he also decided to write a book.
Currently trending at #7 are Ugg Boots - because they are "Black Friday's Hottest Fashion Item". People really have no taste in clothes, but as long as they are wasting their own money, let them enjoy their ugly boots - pun not intended.
Gillian Andersen posed for a photo with an eel for some kind of ocean benefit campaign - needless to say, she was also topless. I was always wondering at the necessity of ditching clothes in order to protect Mother Earth.
The most popular puppy names in 2013 were Bella and Max - any guesses why?
Kaley Couco is vacationing in the Bahamas with her fiance - who does not want to vacation in the Bahamas in December?
Jennifer Hudson admitted that at the time she won her Oscar she had no idea what Oscar meant - here is a record of living in a cave, ladies and gents!
Pope admitted that one of his past jobs was being a bouncer at the Buenos Aires airport - interesting, that.
"Justin Bieber is all grown up in the new music video" - really?!! You don't say!
And, finally, Kate wore a tiara for the first time since her wedding - long overdue, princess!
Coffee this morning in my Disney Dalmatian Spots mug.

MORNING REPORT - JUNE 16

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Sunday! Shavua Tov! Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there! The weather is a bit iffy, but not bad. Sniff keeps trying to escape the apartment and explore the hallway; George was trying to hunt some birds earlier today.
The Singing Slavs disappointed us last night and did not perform as scheduled.
The news of monumental proportions - Kim K. gave birth to her daughter yesterday! No details available yet, aside from the fact that the baby supposedly looks like her mommy and her name will begin with K; the hard-core fans usually come equipped with a lot of patience, so, they will wait for the rest of the information as it comes along.
Second important piece of news: Jennifer Connelly's hair are now shoulder length - well, she does look a bit younger with the new style. In the same vein - blonde is not Olivia Wilde's best look.
Pope blessed hundreds of Harleys this morning - interesting. So now we should stop calling the bikers "organ donors"?
Among the things "you don't know about Emma Watson" is the fact that she was born on April 15 in Paris and lived in France till the age of 5 - congratulations! You just learned a very important bit of historical trivia.
Paris Jackson hates Justin Bieber - aw, poor Justin!
And, finally, Kate does seem to be enjoying some quite time.
Coffee this morning in my clear funky glass from Target.
