MORNING UPDATE - February 21, 2014

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Friday! Happy Erev Shabat! It's still warm! Although there was a "severe fog advisory" for our area (over-rated, by the way), and later in the week there would be more snow - yippee. I don't remember ever washing that many socks for myself at one time - I mean, never before!
This time they had NBS on - blessedly on low, but then another customer showed up, carrying a non-stop phone conversation in a very booming voice. I mean, no peaceful laundry for yours truly, ever!
Sniff was doing his horse, er, cat race routine earlier today, and George is warming up my freshly washed bedding.

Currently trending at #4 is mumps outbreak at Fordham - because, you know, vaccinations are evil or something.
Trending at #2 is Mila Kunis, who shared details of her date with Ashton Kutcher. OK, Valentine's is over, unless people need some lame tips for the next year.
Trending at #6 is Lena Dunham - because "she lays smackdown on Jezabel" after that august publication offered ten gs for unretouched images of Dunham's photoshoot for Vogue. Lady, relax - you are an independent, free, empowered woman. So, who cares what you look like without makeup and Photoshop?
Courtney Cox is at #8 due to her vacationing in Venice with her daughter and her new boyfriend. Personally, I would just go to Aruba - alone!
Christina Aguilera is pregnant again - good luck to her future kid!
Bieber's mom can sing - can she also control her idiot offspring?
And, finally, a Welsh artist painted Kate's portrait using food spread and toast.

MORNING UPDATE - DECEMBER 18

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Wednesday! It's nice and cold outside, which, according to Al Gore & Co., is because the Arctic ice is melting at an alarming rate and simultaneously cooling the Golf Stream. 
George decided to quietly haunt me this morning and only started his loud meows when he realized that the chicken was on its way. Sniff escaped last night in order to explore our very sophisticated hallway.
Yesterday had "an educator" as a costumer - woman could not follow simple directions and was rude and obnoxious in the bargain; I wonder if she is a graduate of the The Teacher's College.
Currently trending at #1 is Pippa Middleton - because she is, reportedly, engaged! Mazal Tov! The world is waiting with baited breath for the discussions of the ring, the wedding venue, fashions, menu, etc, etc, etc.
Trending at #2 is Christina Aguilera - who, by performing with Lady Gaga, "put feud rumors to rest". The only thing that comes to mind is "freak show".
Brad Pitt is turning 50; he claims that "the one downfall of aging is 'your face kind of goes'"- well, duh!
Stars like Madonna, LeBron, Kim K., Gaga, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye, and Rihanna are supposedly displaying Illuminati symbols - how low did the Illuminati fall if they accepted those uneducated morons as their members?!!!
Kerry "tours typhoon-ravaged" Philippines - poor people can't get a break!
Justin Bieber claimed that he is "retiring" - yea, I'll believe it when I see it.

MORNING UPDATE - NOVEMBER 25

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Monday! The weather took a completely arctic turn - not only can't I wear flippies, but I had to dig out my socks!
Kitties are not enjoying the weather either - Sniff keeps alternating between the pipe in the kitchen and the one in the bathroom, and George likes to hug a throw that I crochet ones.
Last week I had to shelve a thin biography of Dr. Blackwell next to over-abundance of books about Bieber - sad, that. How many girls who think that Bieber is the height of cool know about Dr. Blackwell?
And speaking of sad things - currently trending at #3 is George Stephanopolus, because he interviewed our sorry excuse of a Secretary of State. You know something - I prefer to hear about Bieber, after all.
There is also a whole discussion about "dazzling" outfits at the American Music Awards. Aguilera showed up in "low cut dress with strategic cutouts" - very original of her.
Miley Cyrus did something "bizarre and sexy" at those Awards - again, very, very original.
Gaga, of course, "upstaged" Miley at the AMA - what else is new?
"Delicious Thanksgiving sides without guild" - the word "guilt" should never, ever, ever, never be attached to anything related to food, especially holiday food!
Singles hate the question "why aren't you married yet" - duh!!! You just found out that one?!!
The rest is about football, so, as usual, no comment.

MORNING UPDATE - JULY 21

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Sunday! Shavua Tov! Wishing all of you a fantastic week! The heat wave is supposedly broken, and our temperatures are only in the 80s with haze and humidity remaining - gee, where is my woolen coat?! 
As usual, there are the infomercials for Guthy Renker on TV - at one point both channels 2 and 3 were both showing the same one at the same time; it was fun flipping them on the remote back and forth. Then, of course, there were infomercials for juicers and such, plus one for Sensa - very timely (insert sarcasm). And now channel 111 is showing Not Without My Daughter - how in blazes is this movie still allowed in the age of Hussein is a mystery to me.
George decided to sleep on the window sill he previously did not use for this activity. In the morning both of them jumped on my bed to snuggle and spent a surprising 2 hours without fighting. Now Sniff is back on my bed sleeping, and George is sleeping on another window sill - right in front of me. Yesterday they both participated in one of their favorite activities - chewing my blanket.
Royal Baby is currently trending at #1 - but there are no definite news, just speculations. Good luck, Kate! Keep hiding in your parents' house - that is the best choice for you now!
Jay Z is trending at #6 because he and his lady fair Beyonce attended a Trayvon Martin rally in New York - you know what, I changed my opinion. Not only any self-respecting "white" person should boycott these two and their so-called art, but any self-respecting American, no matter their race.
It turns out that today is National Ice Cream Day - yippee! Carvel, here I come!
Christina Aguilera is in the news for 2 reasons: she tripped in "sky-high" heels outside a Hollywood club, and she was pronounced the worst singer of the National Anthem - and both of them are, of course, of equal importance. Well, heels might be attributed to stupidity, but the Anthem - you have to love the country, and not just have a good voice, in order to truly perform it well.
And, finally, Selena Gomez is convinced that "Justin Bieber is 'The One'" - and that is after boasting on Letterman that she made him cry! Wow, you two deserve each other - and some enterprising psychiatrist can make a fortune on your combined craziness.

MORNING UPDATE - MAY 6

Good Morning, peeps! Happy Monday! The weather is a bit on the cool side, and the sun is gone for now - still loving it (although not as much as yesterday's weather). I think George finally settled on his fave window - it's the only one that still has a pretty much intact window shade. Sniff is now nibbling not only on my flippies, but on Baby Bro's yoga mat as well. He dragged it out of its hiding and made a couple of nice holes - not bad for a cat (even a largish one). Both of them came to snuggle with morning - each on their favorite side. Alton Brown was talking about sinco de maya food - boo!!! But Marc Summers was talking about America's fave starters, beginning with buffalo wings; Paula always saves the day with her unbelievable desserts, and Ina is talking about different flavored butters! Eat in good health, America! And speaking of effin 5th of May - waiting for the stories of mexicans offended by American flag, like they were last year and the year before. Graduate School of Theology at Abilene Christian University was transformed over the weekend into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and all the professors were given new names from the HP books - what a fantastic way to teach theology! Reese Witherspoon decided to brave it and put on a baseball cap with City of Atlanta PD on it, which prompted the debate about whatever it was a wise move on her part - I think we need to consult a couple of philosophy professors on this one, just to clarify the point and end the debate. 15 snacks that are not recommended during work - people, what planet are you from? When you are at work, and you missed lunch because at least 5 people want a piece of you, and it's after 3, and your hands are shaking from hunger - the LAST thing on your mind is how healthy the bloody snack is! "Aguilera rocks bombshell dress" - when she does something that involves the actual work of the brain waves, then you can report it; going around in "bombshell" dresses is basically an everyday occurrence to her. "How to do your makeup in 90 seconds" - just ask a working mother for a demo. "Bad managers cost the US economy billions in lost productivity each year, a new study finds" - I guess the study started and ended in DC. Justin Bieber, together with Usher, are facing a 10 mil lawsuit from 2 Virginian songwriters over the copy-write infringement - considering the infantile contents of their songs, even that they stole? "Kim Kardashian's Pregnancy Symptoms Include Swollen Feet" - in other news, I made myself pancakes for breakfast. And, finally, drum roll! Now, according to Prince Harry and some other sources, Kate and Will are having a boy - people, wait already! It's not that long, for pete's sake! Also, get a life.
